Schrödinger's Cat

You may call me naive... when it was revealed that Kate McCann would release a paperback version of her book 'Madeleine' with an added chapter about the Scotland Yard review,  I really did wonder just how she would manage it.  Especially when it was said that the British review would be conducted in utmost secrecy with no final report even being made public.

Lead investigator DCI Andy Redwood originally stated that the open minded investigation followed two leads - one that Madeleine was alive and secondly that she was sadly dead.  This week however, we appear get a good idea of how things are panning out, ready for the 5 year anniversary and paperback book launch.

Several sources, including Robert Murat, Alan Johnson and Isabel Duarte, enabled Panorama to come across as an all out denigration of the Portuguese people and its police force.  Extremely degrading towards Portugal, the show pointed the finger of guilt at everyone except the main players... Kate and Gerry McCann and their friends.

Despite the Portuguese having primacy in the case and Scotland Yard only being one quarter of the way through their file, we now have claims that Madeleine is alive, having been subjected to a criminal act by a stranger.  And even more bizarrely, this respected Detective Chief Inspector is making these claims whilst doing the sofa run on morning television.  There's something just not right about that... We have also been proffered an image of what Madeleine may look like at the age of nine and a possible 195 historical investigative teasers.

The Scotland Yard review is made up of 3 elements... information from the Portuguese and British police in addition to the array of private investigators hired by the McCanns. Authorities in Portugal have publicly rejected the media led request to reopen the case, saying it would only be reopened on the basis of new evidence from a "serious, pertinent and authoritative" source.  Authoritative source... can we assume that these 195 old leads have come from the unauthoritative files of the private investigators?  What a strange place for a police force to start a review. Despite the AG stating that these historical 'leads' are quite obviously not new, the alive drive continues.

As the Portuguese are not willing to reopen the case using old evidence, I would appeal to DCI Redwood to reveal every one of these 195 leads and identify which part of the investigation they have arisen, in the same way that he has unveiled the image of a 9 year old Madeleine.  The public are a great help in many investigations, why not this one?  It would also quash the wave of accusations and rumours that a whitewash is in full flow.

Amongst many questions still being asked, the review has declared a live child yet failed to explain the scent of death found in many related places by a British cadaver dog.  And because of these very serious indications, the review should explain just how they have reached the conclusion of a live child being taken from the apartment.  The analysis of a sporadic, jotted down timeline really doesn't wash.

There is persistent chatter that the McCanns have the right to request the reopening of the case in Portugal themselves at no cost, but no-one in the British media has ever questioned this.  This current review has so far cost the taxpayer £2m, and is only one quarter along - are we foreseeing a final bill of £8m three years on with diplomatic relations with Portugal on a downward spiral?

These questions (or answers) will obviously not make it into the additional chapter of the paperback but fortunately for the McCanns, Scotland Yard have astonishingly given them plenty of perfectly timed material to use when they "speak publicly next week".  Not to mention the money and headline grabbing media.  The begging bowl may be left in the pantry this time around, but plenty can be made from the book.

    1. Have many, many times and firmly come down on there having been an abduction. Cannot see any other possibility here at all.

Read about the witnesses to a man hanging around the apartment watching for days. Watch the documentaries where a good number of people came back and said also that they had seen a strange man just standing and watching 5a...then think again about what you are saying here.

Mind boggles how so many numpties come to the conclusion Madeleine died in 5a without any evidence to back it up. And all the while Madeleine is out there and needs finding and whoever this person/these persons are who commit such crimes against children need locking up.

Perhaps if Amaral had had half a brain cell this would have happened long, long ago. Think of that. And think how it must feel. Think how you would have been if your child/grandchild had been taken?

  4. Why did Scotland Yard not interview any of the Tapas 9? Real evil begins, not when the British Police misbehave, but when Scotland Yard cannot both itself to lie properly.

    1. Finding it hard o understand what you are saying here Tom, I am sorry!

Perhpas you are askibng the question "why did Scotland Yard" not interview the Tapas9? Who says they haven't. We are not privvy to what exactly Scotland Yard are doing with the case and even if information is sent to them, there will not be a reply, I can assure you.

I would just say to you here, let Scotland Yard get on with the masses of information they have been given by the PJ, Metodo3 and other agencies and from the public at large and hope and pray they find out exactly who did this to Madeleine. The perptrator who so cruelly snatched her from her bed. Let them find this person and punish them in a just way.

We need to make this world safer for our children and while you people swarm onto forums and twitter spouting misinformation/disinformation and in some cases downright lies (and I am not accusing you here Tom), then these culprits are getting away with it.

We have to get Madeleine home where she belongs...right?

  5. The reason they have no trouble sleeping is because Madeleine is a very, very, very distant memory away,in fact its like she never was thier daughter

    1. Please do not be so heartless and cruel! Of course they are grieving like any parent would do. But look at the type of people they are up against heckling them. But it is obvious to most what quarters these people are coming from and thank the Lord above they are in the minority. Still enough to be upsetting.

I would say this...."Do unto others as you would have others do unto you". A very good philosophy to live by...don't you agree?

  6. @anonymous 04.33

Those two parents have done some dreadful things and harmed a lot of innocent people not least their 3 yr old who may well be dead now because of their actions so deserve all they get imo.I would say a better philosophy would be if you can't do the time don't do the crime.

They should have learned as children that there is a consequence for every action ,some good some bad.Nobody but them made their choice so it's them that pay the price.

  7. What crime are you talking about? The error the Mccanns made was in feeling it was ok to leave the children and they have to live with this every single day of their lives....wondering where Madeleine is and what is happening to her. Can you imagine that? Punishment enough I would say.

But every time I go into our local town or into the supermarket I see children unsupervised by parents to busy shopping or too busy talking with their mates to notice the children running amok. They so easily could be abducted to as has happened in the past.

Nobody is immune from this possibility, believe me!

And please remember that it is not only the McCanns who are paying the price, but Madeleine too, and while people will believe the parents have had something to do with her demise, she is out there somewhere in this big bad world of ours and needs finding and the real criminal, the person/s who took her need punishing.

    1. And just who have the Mccanns harmed?

I see certain people who have been the authors of their own undoing in this case. One in particular who had a lot already going on in his life when he was being charged with perjury over the Cipriano case. Knowing what we do about this person now, how do we believe that Leonor was responsible for such a heinous crime towards her daughter? I see a similar pattern emerging here, don't you?

  8. We're all on the side of Maddie, and therein lies the problem. Why would you not want EVERYONE fully investigated. The case hasnt been solved yet, nobody knows WHO the guilty party is and by completely ruling out the parents without any evidence youre doing the child a complete dis=service. She deserves to have every individual in this case ruled in while the investigation is still ongoing and the actual guilty party is in cuffs. You cnat just say oh the poor parents and rule them out on some romantic notion that a parent wouldnt commit a crim. Read the news, it's everywhere. You dont know that unless you were there and know what actually happened.

  9. Perhaps not, but I would say that by looking at the photographs and video film of the Mccanns home life and from also looking at little Madeleine's happy face in said photos and video clips, it is plainly obvious to most that the Mccanns provided their much wanted children with a stable, loving and very happy homelife. So why, therefore, would you imagine Madeleine being harmed by them in PdL. There is no reason to unless you listen to the absolute lies being banded about on the internet about them.

Of course there are children at risk every day from their parents and I am certainly not in denial of that, but I feel certain that in this instance you are barking up the wrong tree in assuming that the McCanns have harmed their child. The whole sordid story being passed about and embroidered on as it goes along...it is too ridiculous to even contemplate. I think we would have seen a very nervous pair in PdL if they had done away with Madeleine. And as they love her so much, I think also they could not have accidentally hurt her and not then have succumbed with the grief of so doing.

And imagine trying to dispose of her body with the world's media on your doorstep watching your every move. It absolutely would not have happened and is a ridiculous notion IMO to think it did.

I am certain that had this abduction have happened anywhere else and the police had been rather more on the ball with their closing the borders and airports and ports and had Amaral allowed the reconstruction immediately, as the Mccanns had called for, then this story would be very much different today.

    ReplyDelete
  10. It would have been a very different case had Madeleine not been left alone,if had Kate answered all the questions put to her and if their so called friends had agreed to take part in the reconstruction they were asked to.
The story would indeed have been very different to what it is today, Madeleine would have come home from Portugal with the rest of her family if she had been cared for properly Poor Madeleine deserved better parenting than the Mccann's gave her.

    ReplyDelete
  11. It may have been a different story had Madeleine and the twins not been left alone...yes! But it may still have happened.

We do not yet know for sure how the abductor entered the apartment. He/she/they may have used the sliding patio doors or they may have gained access through the front door by key. We just do not know. And if it was the latter, then this could have happened while the McCanns slept in their bedroom if the abductors were determined enough. And determined they obviously were.

The answering of questions and would not necessarily have done any good at all judging from the questions I have seen online. More to the point was that Amaral SHOULD have insisted on getting the borders closed and patrolled, the airports closed and the ports too. This little girl most probably would have been home with her parents if this had been done.

So we blame Amaral and we blame those who took the child in the first place.

    1. Oh dear. So much hatred towards Amaral! Is Kate Healy dictating this rubbish for you? Or maybe it's Saint Kate herself!

Can you enlighten me who 'we'is that blames Amaral?

If you read your post again and still believe what you have written you really are not a right thinking person and children worldwide will continually be at risk whilst ever they are placed in the care of people like yourself.
I notice you speak for others rather than yourself, hmmmmm very controlling and very cult like as is blaming rather than taking responsibility for your own actions.Because of this you deserve no respect whatsoever.
